WALK TO SCHOOL
Working with Durham County Council, Acorn Trust will be going in to schools in Derwentside to encourage walking into school, a cheap healthy and environmentally friendly alternative to the car.   Over 25% of morning traffic is involved with the school run.   This scheme aims to reduce this and encourage children to have a good look at the world around them at the same time, with a week of assemblies events and competitions.   Any activities can be linked to specific areas of the National Curriculum, so if your school would like more information get in touch with Joe.
