The sustainable garden is an allotment project which works with volunteers and members of the local community to grow plants in a sustainable way. The project is only in it's second year of development, with the work so far including repairs to the fencing, putting up a hedge and greenhouse and getting the compost heap going. We are looking forward this year to working with schools and special needs groups to develop our vegetable patch using principles of organic gardening and companion planting. We also hope to start a nursery or wildflower plants which can them be used in the planting scheme of other environmental projects in the region.
