Watch is a national network of nature clubs, aimed at involving young people in finding out about the environment through fun activities, games and projects. The clubs are the junior branch of the Wildlife Trusts and are run by volunteers and staff of environment organisations across the country. Here in Derwentside we currently run 5 groups, they are held as after-school clubs at Moorside Primary, The Grove Primary, Shield Row Primary, East Stanley First School, and Bloemfontein Primary. So far this year we have covered topics such as woodlands, recycling, bird feeding and red squirrels. To get involved in Watch, either as a member or an adult helper, contact your nearest Wildlife Trust. If you would like more information on Acorn Trust Watch groups, contact Sam.
